About CDH
CDH Artisans was born out of a desire to do things differently — with pride, precision, and purpose. I started this company to create a life where I could work for myself, uphold the highest standards, and build a legacy that extends beyond just beautiful homes. CDH stands for my initials, Christopher David Hansen, and “Artisans” represents the care, craftsmanship, and class I believe should define our work. I didn’t want another generic name. I wanted something that carried weight — something that would stand out.

My journey began in North Carolina as an apprentice to a local handyman. I was just a young guy living with my uncle, not yet knowing this path would define my life. When I moved back to Idaho, I got hired as a “cut boy” for a framing crew in Kimberly. There, I learned the discipline of precise cuts and the foundation of what it means to be a solid rough carpenter.

I started college to pursue a career in the medical field, but life had other plans. Starting a family made me reevaluate everything. I didn’t want to drown in student debt or spend years away from the hands-on work I loved. I needed to provide. I needed to build. So I returned to construction — this time with a clearer vision.
I joined a custom home builder in Jerome, working from framing to finish. After helping close out several homes, I made the leap in 2018. With a trailer, tools, and the support of my parents, CDH Artisans was born — a finish carpentry business built from grit, skill, and determination.
